TUNGBA KING, THE ENIGMA,YINKA AYEFELE SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, TALKS ABOUT HIS 16 YEARS IN MUSIC(CHECK IT OUT)

Annually, Tungba King, yinka Ayefele drops his albums in December, this year won't be different as he has concluded work on his new album set to come out in the first week of December, in this interview, Yinka Ayefele talks about his forthcoming album.

You could have done something else at that time, why broadcasting and later music?

I love broadcasting, I was in radio Nigeria as their yearly Father Christmas at the national station, I worked with Ibadan national station for about eight years, and I freelanced with them at the same time I was doing their yearly Father Christmas. I later joined the production, then presentation, I presented about seven programs a week then, I have been a musician before I joined FRCN, I have been producing music but I was not a performing musician, I used to produce musical jingle, station ident, program theme song when I was working as a broadcaster until the accident, precisely December 12 1997, a friend of mine and a brother,Kola Olootu advised that I should put some songs together and launch myself and realize some funds to go for further treatment abroad, and eventually I did, I released 'Bitter Experience' I did the first album to raise fund, I never knew I will eventually become a musician . I was thinking I would go back to my broadcasting after the treatment.

When I came back I did another album I titled 'Sweet Experience' to appreciate those who supported me. The acceptance was so huge and I proceeded to do the third one, and from there, I realized that the music thing is more profitable than broadcast world.

Did you have a band as at the time of the Bitter Experience?

No, I didn't have a band, it was after sweet experience that I organized some guys to work with me, although, I have been a member of boys brigade where I played saxophone and trumpet before I came into broadcasting.

How did you come up with the name of your band?

I use to have a small company then, it was called Ayefele the merry maker. So when I was trying to set up my own band, I didn't want to lose that name, so I just decided to use Yinka Ayefele and the merry maker's band.

For how long have you been in music?

My musical career right from the Bitter experience is 16years old, but I have been performing as a guitarist and as backup for some artiste before then.

Tell us the musicians you worked with before you set up your own band?

I worked with Uncle Toye Ajagun, I was his tenor guitarist, I played with Micho Ade, we started his band together, and with Wale Thompson and I played at a lot of churches as well.

Do you still play musical instruments?

Yes I still play guitar, especially bass guitar, trumpet, keyboard and saxophone.

How do you draw your musical inspiration?

Sometimes I get some musical inspirations while on stage , I also have people who gives me songs, like my younger brother Laolu Ayefele and lai Adiss, also in my band I have kayode Emmanuel, I don't want to limit my production to just what I am capable of doing, so that I won't sound monotonous. So that is why I involved some people to work for me especially on composition, I draw my own inspiration while on stage, seeing people around me, but if I don't record it, I will forget it.

We know that your music is improving day by day at what level is your music now?

Basically I work on a very good production, it's left for my fans to describe my kind of music, all I know is that I play heavily percussive music which I call Tungba.

You are planning to release a new album, tell us more about the new work?

I don't have a title yet, maybe you are going to give me a title for it… (Laughs). It's a little bit different from the previous one. It is heavily percussive as well, but it's filled with messages. Its 'Tungba' stuff, but the lyrics are what I really worked on.

When is it going to be out?

By the grace of God it's going to be the first week of December

Is there going to be a celebration to launch the album?

Because of my father's burial, we are just planning to release it officially, the official public presentation is going to be on the 8th of December..

Yes! I Have Boyfriend- Weird MC Speaks

Weird MC, born Adesola Adesimbo Idowu, is one female rapper in Nigeria who always dazzles on stage to thrill her fans at any given opportunity.

She was one of the artistes who closed this year's edition of the annual musical concert, tagged "Felabration".

Although with a masculine figure and often mistaken for man, Weird MC hasn't given up on marriage.

"My marriage is in God's hands. But there is a man in my life. There's a man in waiting. You have to be patient."

She also explained why nothing much has been heard from her in recent times.

"I am actually in the studio recording my latest songs. We have actually shot a video for one of the new songs. We are editing right now. We are also recording more songs, in fact, I just want to round off by doing a few collabos. I have already done some collabos but I want to do more .By the grace of God we are good to go. Yes, I know that my fans are missing me."

It is no longer news that within two consecutive years, female singers in Nigeria lost two of their colleagues, Goldie and Kefee, to the cold hands of death. Does Weird MC think they left a vacuum in the industry following their sudden exit?

"I don't know. You know they just started growing in the industry. Kefee was around for a while and to come to term with the fact that she's no more is still a shock to me. May God continue to protect and preserve us. And we will continue to do things to make them proud wherever they may be," she said.

I'm Not Diabolical, I'm Only Ripping The Fruits Of My Labour -Oritse Femi explains source of wealth

Wave making musician, Oritse Femi is not doing badly at the moment. He has grown to become one of the sought after singers. Now, the big boy artiste has stepped up by getting himself a 'tear rubber' Range Rover SUV. He also moved into his multimillion palatial home in Lekki, Lagos.

Seeing his huge automatic progress , tongues started wagging that the 'Double Wahala' star might have devised a diabolical means of 'making' it big in the entertainment circuit.

The singer who is now neighbour to other A-list artistes such as D'banj, Don Jazzy, among many other acts in Lekki, dismissed the rumour, explaining that his latest acquisitions were from proceeds of shows he headlined both locally and internationally.

"I headline several shows both home and abroad. There is hardly a show you would go to right now that my name is not on the poster. It is through hard work and I thank
God. Although I cannot disclose how much I got the car and the house, I was able to get the money from the shows I headline," he said.

"I am popular now due to hard work and I am always in the studio. After my song, Mercy of the Lord, with Da Grin, I tried my best to bring out a better song but I was unlucky to get any. I had to go back to the drawing board to create the kind of sound people would like.

"I did not go to Satan to succeed, it is not possible. I advise many of my childhood friends that to make it in life, you have to work hard. I say this because some of them may believe the rumour that I did juju, no. It is through hard work. Hard work pays and nobody should do juju. It is my hard work that is paying off," he said.

WIZKID Arrested In Kenya For Smoking Weeds, Bailed By Girlfriend Victoria Kimani

Nigerian singer Wizkid was arrested from his Nairobi Crown Plaza hotel room on Saturday afternoon and quizzed by police only hours before his flight back to Lagos.

The arrest was in connection with allegations that he was caught smoking illegal substances. The incident happened at around 1pm just as the Caro singer was checking out of his hotel room where he has been staying for a week, since his last week's concert.

According to our sources, Wizkid was caught smoking 'weed' inside the hotel in which smoking is prohibited. The hotel's Front Officer asked him why he was smoking before the two got into a heated argument attracting security officers who ended up calling the police to arrest him.

Before police officers cuffed him and drove him to Capital Hill police station where he was quizzed, the hotel had already charged him with Sh50,000 smoking penalty, which he paid through his credit card.
